I am appropriates Barbara Kruger's 1990 I shop therefore I am print which questions meanings behind modern consumerism. I am considers the value attributed to invisible domestic labour when that labour follows contemporary notions of homesteading and home production as a conscious form of activism through living which stands against over-consumption and environmental degradation.

This large textile work considers contrasts in notions of Mother Earth as a pure environment and the contemporary mother as a consumer creating environmental damage. It was created using natural dyes and new and discarded cloth.
